Arturia Pure LoFi is a professional low-fidelity software synthesizer developed by Arturia. Instead of focusing on clean and polished sounds, the plugin is designed around sonic imperfection, allowing producers to add warmth, texture, noise, and vintage character to their productions.

Three Powerful LoFi Engines

Pure LoFi uses a three-engine architecture with two engine slots that can operate in parallel. Each slot can load one of three engine types.

Realistic Instrument Engine provides access to more than 40 multisampled acoustic and electronic instruments, including bells, winds, guitars, pianos, strings, and synthesizers. These samples add organic detail and warmth to the sound.
Creative Sampler Engine includes more than 130 melodic samples and provides sampler controls for adjusting loop direction, fade, and tone. It also supports importing personal samples, making it useful for custom sound design.
LoFi Oscillator Engine contains more than 130 custom digital waveforms, including analog-inspired shapes, harmonic textures, and tonal artifacts. It can add digital grit, synthetic character, and unusual tonal colors.
9 Hardware Modes Per Engine

Pure LoFi includes nine hardware emulation modes per engine, inspired by the sound characteristics of classic vintage samplers and instruments. The collection includes references to hardware such as the E-mu SP-1200, Akai MPC, Fairlight CMI, Casio SK-1, and EMU samplers. These modes add different bit-depth characteristics, tonal colors, and vintage imperfections to the sound.

Pure LoFi also includes three custom degradation modes: Deteriorate, Damage, and Crush. These modes move beyond traditional hardware-inspired processing and provide additional options for creating heavily degraded and experimental sounds.

Layered Noise Engine with 190+ Textures

Texture plays an important role in lo-fi production, and Pure LoFi includes a dedicated Noise Engine with more than 190 noise layers.

The library is organized into three categories:

Classic — Tape hiss, vinyl crackle, and similar textures
Hardware — Equipment hum and sampler artifacts
Natural — Rain, field recordings, and environmental sounds

The Noise Engine uses two layers. Texture layers provide sustained sounds, while Transient layers focus on attack-oriented elements. This allows noise to become part of the sound itself instead of simply sitting underneath the patch.

The dedicated LoFi Processor provides six degradation modes for shaping the overall character of a sound:

The filter section can therefore handle anything from gentle high-frequency reduction to heavily degraded and unstable tones.

Advanced Panel with Drag-and-Drop Modulation

The Advanced Panel provides deeper modulation options for producers who want more control over their patches. Its drag-and-drop modulation system allows sources to be assigned to different parameters. Available sources include envelopes, LFOs, random generators, functions, macros, velocity, aftertouch, modwheel, and other keyboard controls.

The panel also includes per-note sampler behavior settings. These options can change how samples respond to velocity, position, and other performance gestures, adding movement and variation to individual notes.

Four-Slot FX Rack with 18 Effects

Every Pure LoFi patch includes a four-slot FX rack containing 18 studio-grade effects. The effects include options such as Reverb, Delay, Chorus, and Distortion, along with additional processing tools. Effects can also interact with the Advanced Panel’s modulation system, allowing parameters such as reverb decay, delay feedback, and distortion drive to change dynamically. This makes the FX section useful for creating evolving and expressive sounds instead of relying only on static processing.

Extensive 250+ Preset Library

Pure LoFi comes with more than 250 presets created by professional sound designers and lo-fi artists, including Lily Jordy, Fisound, NeMen, Enzalla, Dosi, and L’Indécis. The presets cover a broad selection of sounds, including cracked pianos, fluttering synths, decayed keys, ambient textures, organic plucks, and cinematic strings. The Preset Browser provides search options based on keywords, instrument type, musical style, and character.

MPE, NKS, and MTS-ESP Compatibility

Pure LoFi supports MPE (MIDI Polyphonic Expression) for expressive control with compatible hardware. It also supports NKS (Native Kontrol Standard) for integration with Native Instruments hardware and MTS-ESP for exploring alternative tuning systems.
